For more environmental education in schools: Westlake Vinnolit sponsors study trip for Aventinus-Gymnasium Burghausen

• Westlake Vinnolit donates 1000 euros for the environmental education project of the 8th grade at Aventinus-Gymnasium Burghausen.
• The highlight of the project is a study trip to Schladming in Austria, where the pupils can get a first-hand impression of the effects of climate change in cooperation with the University of Innsbruck.

The Aventinus-Gymnasium in Burghausen is encouraging the environmental awareness of its eighth-graders in a particularly vivid way: in a one-year, interdisciplinary research project, the pupils are working intensively on climate change in cooperation with the University of Innsbruck. The highlight is a research trip to Schladming, as the effects of climate change are particularly visible and tangible in mountainous regions.

“For us at Westlake Vinnolit, environmental protection and sustainability are key issues that concern us all, and it is important to us that young people also get to deal with this at an early stage. We are therefore very happy to support this project,” says Thomas Kufner, Site Manager of Westlake Vinnolit Burghausen. The environmental education project comprises several research projects on climate change, which the pupils work on independently, as well as an expert lecture and a three-day research stay in Schladming, which is accompanied by experts from various fields of climate change research.
