Protect the environment – do not release plastic granules
Vinnolit has been supporting “Operation Clean Sweep” (OCS), the plastics industry’s program to prevent the release of plastic granules, such as pellets, flakes or powder into the environment, since 2016. Now Westlake Vinnolit has successfully passed the newly introduced independent OCS certification at all production sites.
What are the goals of Operation Clean Sweep?
Companies from the entire plastic value chain are committed to the program, to apply “good housekeeping” practices and to help protect the environment by reducing pellet loss. Plastic producers, processors, distributors, logistics and recycling companies all have the same goal: zero pellet loss.
Each of the four Westlake Vinnolit production sites has signed the Operation Clean Sweep Pledge (OCS Pledge) and is committed to implementing a management system to prevent plastic loss in line with the principles of Operation Clean Sweep.
By the end of 2024, all Westlake Vinnolit production sites had successfully passed the external audit by the certifier DNV.
